Course One covers the basics to the advanced when it comes to understanding the laws and rules that Minnesota contractors are required to adhere to. Starting out with some key Federal laws and rules that cannot be ignored and rapidly moving into the state of MN suite of departments that have regulatory oversite of contractors.
Also covered in this first 7-hour course are the key state and local municipality employees, as well as which portion of the state code, or local ordinances they are responsible for. The day’s curriculum discusses how the state comes about to divide up these different but equally important categories of laws, rules, and ordinances.
Included in the day is the answer to every contractor’s biggest knowledge quest, what does a legally enforceable Minnesota Contract look like? What should it include, how is it delivered and accepted, and what must be done to ensure the rights to collect for services rendered are all topics covered in this portion of the class.
Course One is the first of a three-course offering and has been approved by the MN Dept. of Labor & Industry for 7 credit hours of CE for Licensed Residential Contractors, Remodelers, Roofers, Electricians, Plumbers, and Building Officials. Course One does not contain an hour energy hour.
